KJV:
Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
NKJV:
Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
Interpretation:
Sodom's sin included arrogance along with being overfed and unconcerned. The verse shows that arrogance leads to ignoring the needs of others. Arrogant people focus on themselves and neglect helping the poor. The verse teaches that arrogance is a serious sin that brings judgment. Arrogance prevents people from showing compassion to those in need.
